I'm placing a Climax book with my new therapist
by oompa inyep, oompa started today with a new therapist who of course wanted to know if i had anything in particular that was the cause of me seeking his service.
so i kinda gave him a jwcult for dummy therapists cliffnotes version, and he seemed like he just couldn't believe some of it.
he understands my awakening has been difficult for me and the stress it has put on my wife and marriage/family.

Exactly, so if a Wizard is gay, so what? However, it it was Rawling's intention to do more than sensationalize her book, why doesn't he have a partner in the book? Outing a character in this way sounds more like a publicity stunt than a serious attempt to encourage tolerance. -

it could also be just human nature in general, or a personality type that was attracted to this religion in the first place.. it seems that several problems on this board just won't die a peaceful death.

I let go of the JW religion when I read Crisis of Conscience and all my opinions/observations came together. But I am still on this forum and I still have a curiosity for what is happening in JW land. I am not sure if that is healthy or not. I don't think any ex-JW who is a regular here has really let go - maybe from the religion, but not from the pain or the experience itself.
I used to save all the old books, visit bookshops etc over the years. I basically had them all, and it has taken me 3 years to get to the point of burning them all. I always said I would sell them on Ebay, but never got around to it - now the prices are so low it's not worth it.
The WT stole 30 years of my life and caused a lot of suffering and I will never forgive the leadership for that. But I don't get angry with the rank and file - after all, they are victims too. -

I am not Welsh myself, but it's good to see the old England/Wales rivalry is still alive and well. I was in Cwmbran, Newport and Brecon for a few years. I have not been in the UK for 7 years. I now live in Asia.

I shunned a JW today...
by zeroday ini was walking into an ace hardware store today.
i was about 15 feet from the door when i hear my name called out.
i looked toward the parking lot and here was an elder from my old hall waving and smiling walking toward me.

Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Personally I would not shun a JW. If they do not know I DA'd myself then I get a chance to sow a seed or two of doubt. As for the ones that want to shun me, I would say Hi to them too. They look really stupid and get very uncomfortable when I don't go along with their little game.

I agree. But, amazingly, I used to still hear comments that it was still 'deep'. Dumbing down is a sign of the times. Even basic jokes are now 'explained' on USTV so the audience will understand.
,br>As for the Daniel book, it was so full of obvious bullsh** that I doubt Franz was involved. He knew how to spin it so fast it appeared plausible. -

Is violence ever justified or acceptable?

my heart says no let's all get along and love each other and show respect to the individual.. my mind says yes.
unfortunately not everyone else agrees with the above.

I would say violence, even to the point of killing someone, is justified when used in self defense. I, and few others, would sit back and let someone rape their wife or daughter in front of them, whatever their moral position before. But to make the first move, no.

I have a scan of the 2008 Watchtower
by RisingEagle ini have a scan of the cover of the 2008 watchtower witling only edition that i got from an active jw relative earlier today if anyone is interested in seeing it.
i don't know how to post pictures without them being the type you have to click on to enlarge.
if someone wants to tell me how to do it i can post it or if anyone has access to a photobucket account i can e-mail the pic to you.
